There is always one!
Don’t think evil, I’m talking about Capsule Collections: the collections created by the big designers for low-cost companies. This time we are talking about two other big names:
- Nicholas Kirkwood, who produces a capsule for Pollini: plots of contrasting materials such as leather and raffia to create totally unique shoes and bags, in which masculine and feminine elements come together.
- Giambattista Valli is drawing a collection for Macy’s. This collection will be sold for incredible prices (from 35 to 200 $) and it will be available from October 26th, both in proper stores and on e-shops. Will wee be able to order it from Italy? Crossed-fingers!
Andiamo al museo!
Niente dinosauri per voi stavolta ma MaxMara e Yves Saint Laurent
La prima è una mostra itinerante che fino al Gennaio 2012 resterà in Russia, dopo esser passata già dalla Germania, Cina e Giappone.
L’esposizione racconta la moda italiana attraverso 70 rari cappotti di MaxMara, ripercorrendo la storia dal 1950 ai giorni nostri. Il titolo? “Coats!”, naturalmente.
YSL lo troviamo invece a Madrid, con una mostra che racconta l’evoluzione dello stilista tramite i suoi masterpiece e abiti mai mostrati prima. E voi direte, in Italia niente? Certo che si! Abbiamo l’esposizione di Marc Jacobs a Milano e a Roma quella dedicata a Audrey Hepburn.
Il lusso parigino sbarca in India.
Hermès ha infatti pensato bene di ingrandirsi un po’ e prestare attenzione anche alle sue clienti indiane! Come?
Disegnando, anziché i suoi iconici foulard 90×90 cm, dei Sari lunghi ben 5 metri. Insomma, se per un quadratino di meno di un metro si spendono quasi 350€, potete immaginare il costo di questi abiti? Più di 8000$!
Hermès è una delle poche maison importanti che sta investendo nell’India, per adesso. Il mercato, lì, si sta ingrandendo, toccando quasi 4 miliardi di dollari!

Ce n’è sempre una!
Non pensate male, parlo di Capsule Collection: le collezioni firmate da grandi nomi per aziende a largo consumo.
Questa volta parliamo di altri due stilisti.
1- Nicholas Kirkwood che realizza una capsule per Pollini: intrecci di materiali contrastanti come la pelle e la rafia danno vita a borse e e calzature del tutto uniche, in cui elementi femminili e maschili si fondono insieme.
2- Giambattista Valli invece disegna per Macy’s. La collezione sarà venduta a prezzi incribili (dai 35 ai 200$) e sarà disponibile dal 26 di ottobre, sia negli store fisici sia negli e-shop, si potrà ordinare dall’Italia? Incrociamo le dita!

No dinosaurs this time, but only Max Mara and Yves Saint Laurent. The first one is a travelling exhibition that will remain in Russia untile January 2012, after passing through Germany, China and Japan. The exhibition talks about the italian fashion through 70 Max Mara coats, tracing the history from 1950 to the present days. The title? “Coats”, of course.

Hermès has in fact thought well about growing a little more and pay more attention the its Indian customers! How? Drawing, instead of its iconic 90×90 cm scarves, some long Saris 5 metres long. In short, is a tiny square of fabric one can spend to 350€, can you imagine the cost of these garments? More than 8000$!
Hermès is one of the biggest fashion houses who are investing in India right now. The market, there, is getting bigger and bigger, almost reaching the 4 billion dollars!
