BEST&WORST OF THE GOLDEN GLOBES

Questa domenica si è tenuta la 67sima edizione dei Golden Globes. Anche se un pochino facciamo finta di interessarci anche a chi è stato effettivamente premiato (anche perchè l’award a Chris Colfer, una delle stars della serie ”Glee” è stato davvero toccante!), ciò che ci intriga davvero è come erano vestite le stars per quella serata speciale!
Dopo aver visionato 2 volte tutto il red carpet in tv e guardato le fotografie, sono arrivata a stilare una mia classifica personale del meglio e il peggio della serata. Ho visto varie classifiche su diversi siti, e ognuna era totalmente diversa dalle altre, una prova del fatto che l’estetica è un fattore personale! Ad ogni modo, questa lista rispecchia il mio gusto e il mio stile. Voi che ne pensate?

This sunday, the 67th edition of the  Golden Globes took place. Although we do pretend to be a little bit interested in who actually won (also because the award to Chris Colfer, one of the “Glee” stars, was very moving!), we are actually more intrigued from what the v.i.p.s have worn for that special night!
After having viewed the red carpet on TV and had a look at the pictures on the internet, I got to write my own personal rating of the best and the worst of the soirée. I have seen different rankings on various sites, and each one was completely different from the other, a proof of the fact that aesthetics is a personal thing! However, this list reflects my taste and my style. What do you think?

THE BEST

1 – OLIVIA WILDE

L’aggettivo giusto è principesco. Lei è bellissima, il vestito Marchesa divino, con una sfumatura di colori perfetta. Se io dovessi partecipare ad un Golden Globe (cioè solo nella mia fantasia) sceglierei un abito del genere, per sentirmi principessa per una sera.

The right word is “enchanting”. She is beautiful and the Marchesa gown divine, with a perfect color. If I were to attend a Golden Globe (which will only happen in my fantasy) I would choose a dress like this, to feel a bit princess for a night.

2 – MEGAN FOX

Io penso che Megan Fox sarebbe magnifica con qualsiasi cosa, ma questo abito è particolarmente bello. Le sembra pennellato addosso. Fresco, giovane, accessoriato ad’hoc, con un’acconciatura morbida e perfetta. In una parola: stupenda!

I think that Megan Fox would look stunning with almost anything, but this dress is particularly beautiful. It looks like painted on her. Fresh, young, perfect accessories and a soft hairstyle. In a word: marvelous!

3 – SANDRA BULLOCK

C’è gente a cui questo look non è piaciuto per i capelli, perchè sostenevano che con quella frangetta sembrasse un cagnolino. A me invece piace un sacco. Il vestito è davvero bellissimo, molto romantico, e gli accessori sono azzeccatissimi. Con quei capelli per me, poi, sta molto bene, ed aggiunge un po’ di grinta ad un look che se no sarebbe fin troppo dolce.

There are people who didn’t like this look for her hairstyle, because they said she looked like a dog. I actually like it a lot. The dress is really beautiful, very romantic, and it fits her perfectly. I think she actually looks good with that hairstyle, as it adds a bit of edge to a look which would otherwise be almost too sweet.

4 – EVA LONGORIA

Bello Bello Bello! Questa sarebbe la mia seconda scelta per un ipotetico Golden Globes. Scende al quarto posto solo per gli accessori, che io avrei scelto diversi. Tutta in nero sembra stia andando più ad un funerale che ad una festa! Lei sì che è una vera donna latina, fiera di mostrare le proprie curve sensuali! La cosa che mi fa impazzire di questo abito è soprattutto lo strascico, che crea una sorta di macchia nera intorno a lei. Divino!

Bello Bello Bello! This would be my second choice for a hypothetical Golden Globes. It drops at the fourth place just for the accessories that I would have chosen differently. All in black, she seems to be going to a funeral rather than to a party! ! She is a true Latin woman, proud to show off her sensual curves! The thing that drives me crazy about this dress is the train, which creates a sort of black spot around her. Divine!

5 – AMY ADAMS

Un colore perfetto per lei, e una silhouette adattissima. Le sta davvero bene quest’abito Marchesa, con dei dettagli che lo rendono davvero particolare e avvolgono la sua figura con eleganza.

A perfect color for her, and a very appropriate silhouette. The Marchesa gown suits her perfectly, with those details which make it very special and elegant

6 – JULIE BOWEN

Bellissimo abito, anche se avrei preferito fosse un po’ più strutturato nella parte sopra, perchè crea delle pieghe che lo rovinano leggermente.

Beautiful dress, although I would have preferred it a bit more structured on the top part, because it creates some pleats which slightly ruin it.

7 – MILA KUNIS

Colore bellissimo (ripreso non solo da lei durante questo evento), però l’abito è un po’ troppo banale per i miei gusti e non accessoriato a dovere. Lei è indubbio, comunque, che sia favolosa.

Beautiful color (chosen not only by her during this event), but the dress is a bit too ”simple” for my taste and not with the proper accessories. She looks, however, fabulous!

8 – ANNE HATHAWAY

Questo abito mi ha resa indecisa fino all’ultimo. Quello che adoro è la schiena nuda, che secondo me è assolutamente sexy in una donna, mentre quello che non mi piace è il total-paillettes look. Troppi luccichii non mi sono mai piaciuti tanto! Però anche lei, è divina!

This dress made me undecided until the very last moment. What I love is the bare back, which I think is absolutely sexy in a woman, but what I do not like is the total-sequined look. I never liked  too much glitter! But she, too, looks divine!

THE HUMAN CASE

La foto la vedete tutti, non ha bisogno di commenti.Il fatto è che non mi voglio nemmeno pronunciare su di lei, perchè sinceramente la stimo tantissimo per questa scelta. Ha un coraggio incredibile, e quell’atteggiamento da “eccomi, sono qua, non mi interessa cosa pensate di me, io voglio solo divertirmi e farvi vedere quanto sono anti-convenzionale”. E direi che ce l’ha proprio fatta Helena, con questo abito di Vivienne Westwood e le scarpe di due colori diversi!

You can all see the photo, so it doesn’t need any comment.  The fact is that I don’t even want to say anything about her, because I actually admire her a lot for this choice. She had an incredible courage, and that attitude of “I am here and I do not care what you think of me, I just want to have fun and show you how anti-conventional I am”. And I would say that she has really made it, with this Vivienne Westwood dress and the shoes in two different colors!

 

Cosa ho imparato?
- Il verde è un bellissimo colore
- Non è automatico che se sei una top-model tu stia bene con qualsiasi vestito (vedi Milla e Heidi)
- Non basta indossare un bell’abito, bisogna anche saperlo accessoriare

What have I learned?
- Green is a beautiful color
- It’s not automatic that if you are a supermodel you would look good with any outfit (see Heidi and Milla)
- It’s not enough to just wear a pretty dress, one must also know how to accessorize it well
